Since 1955, the Board of Directors of the World Press Photo Foundation, an independent platform for photojournalism based in Amsterdam, has invited entries to the world's largest annual photojournalism competition.
The approximately 200 winning works become part of the most popular travelling exhibition in the world. As an impressive showcase of the achievements of international photojournalism, it will make a stop in 45 countries and offers a unique review of the events of the past year. In Vienna, WestLicht traditionally presents the show of the best press photos of the year. 

Fleur Christine Vitale organized the World Press Photo exhibitions 2006 and 2007 in Austria.
