For decades, BMG, a subsidiary of the German media group Bertelsmann, was considered one of the majors in the international music business alongside EMI, Warner, Sony and Universal. Rainhard Fendrich, STS, Papermoon, Hubert von Goisern, Falco and others were under contract with the Austrian BMG Ariola. In 2008 the company and label were taken over by SONY.
Fleur Christine Vitale headed the Business Affairs and Special Marketing departments of BMG Ariola Austria for four years.

Administration of license, producer, artist and distribution agreements and handling of intercompany licensing business; rights compensation via collecting societies (AustroMechana, LiterarMechana, LSG, VBT), evaluation of synchroziation fees (advertising revenues), product price calculations; development of new music products/sound carriers for major customers in the non-music sector and IKEA, Meinl, Swatch, Michelfeit, WIENERIN, among others; development of special distribution channels outside of the recorded music trade; repertoire exploitation and special products as well as conception of CD lines in the areas of musicals, pop/rock, hits, incl. product design, advertising and PR.
