Helmut Grill, media artist, works routinely, playfully and seductively with the most diverse materials. In recent decades he has preferred digital productions and the large format.

"I send the viewer on a journey in which he is supposed to discover the mysterious in my works, but also his very own story", says Helmut Grill about his "Sceneries". This sentence is true for Grill's current series, but also for almost all of his cycles from the past. They show imaginary landscapes (Sceneries), abandoned houses (The Refuges), enigmatic faces (Alphapeople), fish in thrust reversal (Rocketfish), erotic pinups in a war zone (Astarte) or couples in interaction (Relations).

Free of theme and subject, the rule is: a real grill is always recognizable. Usually it spreads out before us in a bewitchingly beautiful way, often disturbing and full of irony, it is always an invitation to the viewer to be alert.

Helmut Grill, born 1965 in Salzburg, lives and works in Vienna.

In the last twenty years his work has been present at around 80 international exhibitions, festivals and fairs.

VITALE Arts & Media Management accompanies the artist with strategic advice.
